How to Become a Real Estate Agent in Mississippi

At Bob Brooks, we offer comprehensive pre-licensing courses for your real estate exam. Becoming a real estate agent can be incredibly rewarding. And it helps to know that our courses are approved by the Mississippi Real Estate Commission.
Step 1 – Complete Pre-licensing Courses
We offer multiple free lessons to get you started! We want to make sure you have an easy introduction to the program as you start your journey to becoming a real estate agent in Mississippi. Then, you can enroll in our Mississippi real estate salesperson pre-licensing course. This course takes 60 hours to complete and costs $189. You must complete all 60 hours if you are planning to take the state licensing exam.
Step 2 – Pass the Mississippi Real Estate Exam
After receiving your pre-licensing certificate, you should be ready to take the Mississippi and national real estate exams at a facility close to you. The exam costs $100. Once you pass, you should then receive your real estate license. Congratulations! However, your work is not quite done yet!
Step 3 – Maintaining Your License and Working With a Broker
After you have become a real estate agent in Mississippi, the state requires you to take an approved post-licensing course. Again, our courses are approved by the Mississippi Real Estate Commission. This course is 30 hours.
Additionally, the State of Mississippi requires new real estate agents to work under the supervision of a Mississippi real estate broker. This allows the realtor to get hands-on experience and have the support of a broker.
Step 4 – Continuing Education
As a real estate salesperson, you must state up to date on policy changes, like licensing law, agency law, contract, inspections, and more. Becoming a real estate agent in Mississippi is a big responsibility. Our 16-hour package includes all of the above-mentioned subjects in an organized format. We also offer individual courses if you don’t need the package.
