How to Get a Real Estate License
It may already be clear, but before you can conduct business as a real estate salesperson in Louisiana, you need to be licensed. These licenses are obtained through LREC, but there is a process real estate students must complete before they can receive it. And there are also a number of requirements that could impact a person’s ability to become a real estate agent. For example, LREC requires that license seekers:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Pass the real estate licensing exam
- Be supervised by a licensed real estate broker and provide proof of errors and omissions insurance before a license can be issued
- Receive 90 hours of LREC-approved real estate education courses
